Immunohistochemistry

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a process of localizing proteins in cells or tissues by exploiting the principle of antibodies binding to specific antigens. Due to the big differences between tissues, antigens and their corresponding antibodies, IHC protocols vary widely. At Histola Research Ltd. our experts, with over 40 years of experience in IHC, will optimize existing protocols or develop new protocols to give you results of the highest quality.

The main areas of immunohistochemistry include the following services:

  • GLP or non-GLP studies
  • Consultation services: Solutions for IHC problems
  • Literature search
  • Automatic or manual staining
  • High troughput IHC
  • Slide analysis, pathological scoring / analysis and report generation
  • Digital light and fluorescence microscopy
  • Image analysis

Histola Research Ltd. has existing optimal protocol for over 140 antigens of both human and animal origin. IHC staining is carried out according to the client’s needs.

 Antibody Cross-Reactivity Studies

Antibody cross-reactivity can be tested by immunohistochemical (IHC) staining using a set of selected tissues. Please ask for more specific instructions.

Colocalization studies and double immunohistochemistry staining

Colocalization can be tested by immunofluorescence staining using a fluorochrome labelled secondary antibodies and fuorescence microscope. Target antigens appear colocalized when IHC is performed to detect two or more antigens in the same section and location. Colocalization is detected by fluorochrome labelled antibodies with different excitation spectra. Colocalisation of antigens visualized when different colors overlaps. Using camera and multichannel fluorescence microscopy Histola offers sharp and high quality images for example for quantitative colocalization analysis.

Performing chromogenic IHC, it is also possible to detect simultaneously two antigens
in the same tissue section using DAB and red chromogen. Please ask for more about our IHC services!
