MICROBIOLOGY
HISTOLA RESEARCH Oy performs microbiological evaluations of traditional and innovative processes and products of all industrial sectors. Special knowledge of pulp&paper microbiology is available. Evaluations cover also statistical analyses of colony count data and construction of HACCP quality control system.
The main analytical methods of the microbiological laboratory consist of:
- Microscopy (Bright field, Phase contrast and UV epifluorescence techniques, Photomicrography)
- Colony count analyses of bacteria, moulds and yeasts (membrane filtration, surface spreading, pour plate and contact plate techniques)
- Luminometric ATP assays (for the contamination and microbiological load analyses) and Vibrio fischeri Analyses (for toxicity testing)
- Hemmhof analyses (for toxicity testing)
- Identifications of specified organismsbBiofilm analyses (PMEU method, with test coupons)
- Quantitative and qualitative analyses of airborne bacteria, moulds and yeasts
- PMEU (Portable Microbiological Enrichment Unit) testing for rapid analyses of microbial load in processes, detection of specified microorganisms, evaluation of biocide programs and biofilm analyses.
Evaluations can be performed in the laboratory of Histola Research Ltd or in the customers’ facilities.
